Today’s Focus:  Let’s Keep It Simple

Life can get so busy and complicated. Here are a few thoughts to engage in a simple conversation that can result in a heartwarming connection.

I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to be involved with several grandchildren who live in my hometown. “Grammy’s shuttle service” gives us the chance to catch our breath and observe what we see as we travel forth and back to activities.

You read that correctly. Forth and back.

I have Scandinavian friends that describe going and coming, in just that manner. 

Think about it. You go, before you can return.

Application: Ask short questions that cannot be answered by yes or no.

Conversation starters to consider are:

Tell me about one interesting action you observed another person doing in the past week. 

What are you looking forward to?

What special task could you do for another?

Let’s grab a bag and gloves, then pick up garbage as we take a quick walk. Make a contest of it and the winner gets bragging rights.

Why it matters:  

When we focus on others, we see a completely different picture.

Healthy endorphins are released in our systems with positive results.

As we choose to make a difference, chances are high that others will see the example and begin to follow suit as well.
